About Belanger Fabrication Co.

Our History

Belanger Welding & Fabrication opened in 1996 under the leadership of Norman Belanger, the current owner’s father, offering general welding services to the New Gloucester, ME area.  This foundation has led to a wide range of experience with many different types of welding projects, from general repair of commercial trailers & large construction machines to creating custom forms for concrete pours, to our specialty: full-service handrail fabrication and installation.

From the beginning, Belanger Welding & Fabrication has been focused on providing welding expertise with all the professionalism and integrity you expect from a large firm yet the flexibility and open-mindedness you expect from an independent contractor.  It’s this combination of confident certainty and customer-first attitude that has allowed Blenager Fabrication to thrive for decades in the New Gloucester community.

Through this open-mindedness, Belanger Welding & Fabrication became ever more capable and in demand for custom steel and aluminum handrail fabrication and installation.  We’ll come to you to take measurements and guide you through the entire process, including our in-house granite and concrete coring capabilities, full fabrication including any desired decoration and design, and powder-coating that makes your metal handrail all but completely impervious to even coastal Maine’s rough weather and salty air and ocean spray, we’re truly your one-stop-shop for custom handrails in Maine.

In 2018 Belanger Welding & Fabrication acquired and moved into its current 7,000-square-foot building at 118 Sabbathday Rd. in New Gloucester, ME. Making Belanger Welding & Fabrication one of the best-equipped general welding and fabrication operations in the Gray-NEw Gloucester area.

About Jeff Belanger

About Jeff Belanger

A New Gloucester native, Jeff is a third-generation welder and fab shop owner-operator.  He attended Gray-New Gloucester high school and graduated in 1988. Following the examples of his grandfather and father, Jeff learned to weld and jumped into a range of real-world work experiences to fully gauge what aspects of welding he most enjoyed and improve his skills in breadth and depth.

After working for others for several years, Jeff took over his father’s welding and fabrication business in 2014 and continued building the Blenager Welding & Fabrication brand with welding work focused on the local community.  From repairing large commercial vehicles to fabricating concrete molds and custom metal railings, Jeff tackled just about everything.

Outside of work, Jeff enjoys surfing, mountain biking, and boating.  You’re pretty likely to find him at the beach or on the lake in his off-hours all summer long.

Our Facilities & Capabilities

Our Facility in New Gloucester, ME, is a 7000 sqft industrial space perfectly suited to large welding projects.  Our bridge crane, capable of lifting 10,000 lbs, and forklift allow us to take on truly large projects at need.  On the other hand, we have mobile welding capabilities perfect for small on-site jobs.  Along with our actual welding equipment and decades of experience, our facilities allow us to take on almost any project, though we specialize in beautiful handrails.

Why Choose Belanger?

Unlike other fabricators of metal handrails in Maine, we take all of our own measurements to ensure precise, accurate measurements.  When installing railings, we do all of our own coring of granite and concrete.  Depending on the situation and need, we use either hydraulic cement or epoxy to set your railings quickly and with beautiful, lasting results.

We take on all aspects of fabrication and installation to ensure our clients’ best possible results.   We feel, as professionals, that the quality of every aspect of our work is essential.  By being directly involved in every step of the process, we can be as thorough as possible and apply our expertise at every stage of the project.
